Stormin' Norman Schwarzbier German Lager

Six Bridges Brewing Company! That’s where I was. There are actually two locations, and I was at the one closest to me in Milton, Georgia. I was here with my kids and grandson to celebrate my birthday (early). This was stop one of a birthday pub crawl, and I chose wisely when I chose to go here. Six Bridges is a father and son operated concern, and what better place, then, for a father to go with his kids?

This is a brewery (not a brewpub), and one composed of two buildings as it were. One contains the brewery proper where the magic is made, and the other the taproom where you get to appreciate it. Under the strangle laws that separate breweries from brewpubs, there is a barbecue restaurant in the taproom, but it seems to be a separate concern. The kids ate and seemed to enjoy it while I just dranka  few beers and waited to meet my oldest son at the next stop.

My first beer was Stormin’ Norman Schwarzbier, a German-style dark lager, and I will let Six Bridges tell you about it:

Stormin' Norman is a tribute to the late US Army General Norman Schwarzkopf Jr. This clean, black lager sits at 5% ABV with subtle malt complexity to it. It has low bitterness and a clean fermentation allowing you to notice the array of grains used. Raise a glass to salute the women and men who serve and protect this country!

Did I mention my point of Stromin’ Norman was free? It was free! Rest assured, we spent money here as I had another point and the kids enjoyed beers too to wash down their barbecue. I had been at Taco Mac about a month ago though for a Six Bridges tap takeover and the brewery rep gave me a coupon for a free beer. Had I not had the coupon, the pint would have cost me $7.

My pint of Six Bridges Stormin’ Norman Schwarzbier arrived jet black in color with a very minimal head and a rich dry roasty nose. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body with roasted barley/malt notes and coffee. It is clean with a dry finish and quite roasty there as well.

I very much enjoyed my pint of Stormin’ Norman and the other beers we tried here. I will be back for sure, and if you are in the area, I recommend a stop.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
