Abomination beers are in Georgia! Until recently, I have only been able to buy beers from this Connecticut based contract brewer from Half Time Beverage in New York. Last Saturday, though, I saw them here at Total Wine, and then Sunday night I noticed Abomination Wandering into the Fog Ambrosia Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale at Taco Mac. Yep. You know I ordered a glass of that. In fact, it was the very first beer I ordered while I was waiting for the Patriots game to start. I just love beer, wings, and New England Patriots football at Taco mac and hey, if I can drink a New England beer while watching? So much the better.

Abomination describes this beer as follows:

Double Dry-Hopped Double India Pale Ale with Pineapple, Orange, Cherry, Coconut and Marshmallow.

I could not find the beer listed on their website, which by the way has a lot of really cool labels in high definition on it, but I can tell you this. It has an alcohol content of 9.1% by volume according to Untappd and Taco Mac. I paid $8 for an 11-ounce draft glass.

My glass of Abomination Wandering into the Fog Ambrosia Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale arrived a very hazy yellow color with a light head of foam and a nose of marshmallow and tropical fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is Medium in body and immediately pops with pineapple coconut and mandarin orange. I get vanilla cool whip and marshmallow notes and a hint of cherry, too. Despite all that fruit, the beer is balanced in the finish and is not overly sweet.

They certainly nailed the ambrosia theme here, and I have to say the beer is more delicious than I expected it would be. Skip the Ambrosia salad (that really isn’t a salad anyway) and bring a 4-pack of this beauty to your next holiday gathering. It will go a lot faster than the dessert usually does, I am willing to bet.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
