Bear Republic Brewery, Healdsburg, California. If you like hops, this is the brewery for you. I have enjoyed two other beers from Bear Republic, both very hoppy. The IPA, I therefore extrapolated, must be a hop blast. It's a hoppy beer indeed, but surprised me with a remarkable malt balance as well.

Racer 5 is bright orange in color with a big creamy head and a delightful piny nose. The malt body reminds me of Celebration to a great degree, as
does the gradual ascension to a mouth-puckering resiny hop bitterness. I could easily drink this beer all night, but the 7% alcohol content would probably catch up with me.

And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
