RPM IPA
Review Date 10/10/2025 By John Staradumsky
New brewery for me! Well, sort of kind of. Deschutes Brewery is the featured brewer of the month for October at taco Mac, and they brought with them Boneyard RPM IPA. Deschutes, of Bend, Oregon bought Boneyard, also of Bend, Oregon, about five years ago. They have allowed them to operate mostly independently ever since, which is very smart indeed.
Founded in 2010, Boneyard is a garage-themed brewery as you can tell very quickly with a theme to their website. They say this about RPM IPA:
There’s no mystery why RPM IPA has inspired a following, a culture, and a sizable number of tattoos. Born from our chop-shop roots, our flagship IPA can taste too good, too clean, too damn balanced to be true. The right choice for any outing—no matter how many rotations per minute you’re chasing.
Ingredients:
Malt: Aromatic Munich, Midnight Wheat, Premium 2-row, Vienna Bulk, Acidulated
Hops: Centennial, CTZ, Bravo, Cascade, Simcoe, Citra
Boneyard RPM IPA has an alcohol content of 6.5% by volume with 45 IBUs and I paid $7.51 for a 23-ounce mug at Taco Mac. Total Wine sells it for $10.99 a six-pack of 12-ounce cans in Denver, Colorado. That’s not a bad price at all these days.
My mug of Boneyard RPM IPA arrived a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of tropical mango and stone fruit. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body, a little fuller than I expected and I like that. It’s tropical again with mango and offers melon and tangerine peel, too. The whole affair is nicely balanced with a lingering bitterness.
I enjoyed this one a great deal with wings and Patriots football at Taco Mac. I would love to drink it again.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
