Went
up Saturday night on the spur of the moment after brewing a 1075 OG
Christmas Dark Ale at the new Brew on Premise with a friend. Redbones is
about
an hour's ride for me but definitely worth it, the food, service and beer
are fantastic. The portions of delicious barbecue are enough to satisfy the
biggest
beer-aroused appetite, and if they goof they make it up to you: my wife
ordered mild and they give her spicy ribs: they quickly replaced the entire
meal on the house.
On to the beer, I was eager to try the PNW drafts so I hit them first:
Boundary Bay Scotch Ale was slightly sweet with good malt, a good beer but I didn't get any smokiness to it, my sampling of Paper City's incredible example of the style last week is still on my mind as the best domestic Scotch Ale.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
