11 Pipers Piping Scotch-Style Ale Brewed with Candi Sugar and Coriander
Review Date 7/24/2025 By John Staradumsky
On the 11th Day of Christmas in July, my true love gave to me… a beer! To be precise, it was the 22nd day of July, and I was appearing on the Lager Room Guys Christmas in July special! They do this every year and it is a blast for sure. The last Christmas ale I popped that night was 11 Pipers Piping Scotch-Style Ale Brewed with Candi Sugar and Coriander from The Bruery.
I am slowly but surely ticking off all the beers in this collection (and no, I’m not a ticker, but there you go). There are only 4 left I have yet to try, and one of those I have a bottle of, that one being 12 Drummers Drumming. For those interested, here are the ones I have already reviewed:
I have tasting notes on 2 Turtle Doves but have yet to post a full review yet. I need to fix that.
From the label:
Scotland is known for its bagpipes and its beers, and this Scotch-Style Ale adds Belgian Candi sugar to the mix, giving it deep notes of toffee and dried fruit accented by the spicy herbal aroma of coriander. The eleventh verse in our 12 Days of Christmas Series, 11 Pipers Piping is an extra smooth and malty, full-bodied jig of a beer.
The Bruery 11 Pipers Piping Scotch-Style Ale Brewed with Candi Sugar and Coriander has an alcohol content of 11% by volume and I paid $12.99 for my bottle from Sherlocks when it was released. My bottle is from 2019 and says drink within 2 years. I obviously went beyond that,
The Bruery 11 Pipers Piping Scotch-Style Ale Brewed with Candi Sugar and Coriander pours to a dark brownish black color with a moderate tan head and a nose of sweet caramel malt. Taking a sip the beer is thick in mouthfeel, sweet caramel treacle, and raisin. There’s a dry spicy coriander note, and of course boozy alcohol warmth.
If you love a good malty brew, this one is for you. It only comes out once is a great while, so if you see it, buy it.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
