Kosmic Kitty New England Style India Pale Ale

Buck Bald Brewery

Review by John Staradumsky • August 20th, 2026

Yay Murphy, North Carolina! I was just there a few months ago, and when I was, I picked up some beers to go at the Buck Bald brewery downtown. One of these was Kosmic Kitty New England Style India Pale Ale, which I enjoyed the other day and am here to tell you about tonight. This is a New England style hazy juicy IPA, and if memory serves it is not the only one Buck Bald makes. But what brewery these days does not have 50 million hazy juicy IPAs? Give the people what the people want!

Buck Bald Kosmic Kitty New England Style India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 7% by volume and  my can was stamped PKG 05.15.26, and I drank it three months later on August 16th. I bought it refrigerated and put it in the fridge as soon as I got it home.

Tasting Notes

Buck Bald Kosmic Kitty New England Style India Pale Ale pours to a hazy pale straw color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of tropical pineapple and even moreso bitter grapefruit rind. Taking a sip, the beer is light to medium in body with a pasty oat smoothness, about what I expect from the style these days. It's citrusy with lemon zest and grapefruit pulp and finishes long and dry and bitter, quite bitter actually and I love how it lingers long on the tongue.

Value & Verdict

I paid $7 for a pint can, but it is slightly cheaper for a 4-pack

Like lemons and grapefruits are having a war in my mouth, and the grapefruits are getting their asses kicked. Do grapefruits even have asses? I can't be sure; I might be drunk.

Buy It Again? Yes, I would.
