30 Minute IPA

Review Date 4/14/2026 By John Staradumsky
You’ve enjoyed Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. You love its bigger, bolder sibling, 90 Minute IPA. You revere the legendary 120 Minute IPA-when you can get it. But have you tried the latest addition to the “Minute” family, Dogfish Head 30 Minute Light IPA? I recently picked up a can of this beer in a mixed singles six-pack at the Ingles supermarket in Murphy, North Carolina.
Intrigued, I headed on over to the Dogfish website and read about 30 Minute Light IPA.
After years of R&D
and tweaking the recipe to incorporate continual hopping, 30 Minute Light
IPA is officially here! This true indie craft beer has all the character of
a world class IPA, but with only 95 calories, 3.6g carbs, 1g protein and 0g
fat per 12oz serving. Seriously.
The little sibling of 60 Minute, 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs has
officially been born. We continually hopped this brew for 30 minutes to get
a less bitter, more aromatic & easier drinking Light IPA. It’s hoppy, crisp,
and crushable!
Dogfish Head 30 Minute Light IPA has an alcohol content of 4% by volume with 30 IBUs and I paid $2 for my single can. Total Wine sells it for $9.99 a six-pack in cans here in Georgia. My can is stamped MAY 2026 on the bottom, which is a best by date since I bought it in March.
Dogfish Head 30 Minute Light IPA pours to a pale straw color with a medium sized, short lived head formation and a nose of light resin and bright citrus. Taking a sip the beer is light in body as expected. It’s flavorful with Grapefruit peel and flesh, a touch of resiny pine, and decent bitterness.
You can style this as a session IPA or a light beer, and I am on the fence myself about that. Dogfish cites the low calorie count and calls it “Light” in the name, but the hops are abundant so I am going with session IPA. I enjoyed it on the patio on a fine warm April evening, and I would definitely drink it again.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
