Enegren Oktoberfest Bavarian Style Märzen Lager

It may be November, but I’m still enjoying Oktoberfest beers. And why not? It’s still fall, after all. The latest new one to meet my glass is Enegren Oktoberfest Bavarian Style Märzen Lager, another fine beer from the Enegren Brewing Company of Moorpark, California. This is the sixth beer I have tasted from Enegren, and I have not been disappointed yet.

Enegren actually brews up two beers in the Oktoberfest theme, the Märzen I am drinking tonight and a paler Festbier. I do have a can of the Festbier on deck and will be drinking that soon. Details to follow.

Enegren says about their Oktoberfest Märzen:

Enegren Oktoberfest is a traditional Bavarian Märzen style Lager brewed with imported German Munich, Vienna and Pilsner malts. These malts give our Oktoberfest a beautiful orange color and a full-bodied, malty-sweet flavor with hints of honey, nuts and caramel. Prost!.

Ingredients from the website:

MALT

Pilsner

Munich

Vienna

Melanoidin Malt

CaraMunich III

HOPS

Nugget

Hallertauer

Enegren Oktoberfest Märzen has an alcohol content of 5.5% by volume with 23 IBUs. I paid $5.39 for my can from  Craftshack. Total Wine sells the beer for $10.99 a 4-pack of pint cans.

Enegren Oktoberfest Bavarian Style Märzen Lager pours to a deep tawny amber color with a thick fluffy head of foam and an inviting nutty malt nose. Taking sip, the beer is chewy with caramel malt notes, toasted nuts and a hint of melanoidin Munich malt goodness. Finishes gently balanced.

Tasty indeed, a very nice Oktoberfest Märzen I recommend highly.

Would I rebuy it??
