Corner of George Street & Shawmut Road IPA

Review Date 4/10/2026 By John Staradumsky

So there I was, standing on the corner of George Street and Shawmut Road. OK, I wasn’t really, but I *was* holding a can of Corner of George Street & Shawmut Road, and India Pale Ale from Evil Twin Brewing of New York. This is a collaboration beer with the Trillium brewery of Massachusetts, famous for their “street” series of beers. You know the ones, like Congress Street India Pale Ale. The streets this beer is named for are George Street, where Evil Twin New York is located, and Shawmut Road, the original Trillium site. Which closed in 2025, though don’t worry Trillium has a second location.

I had just purchased this beer from Half Time Beverage, and checking out the bottom of the can I was like, Hey! What’s up with this? It was stamped CANNED on 12/24/24, not a good sign since I was looking at it in April of 2026. I was concerned.

Evil Twin says:

Whirlpooled & dry hopped exclusively with Citra hops for a pure expression of one of our favorite hops. Big notes of orange flesh, grapefruit, lychee and sweet honey dew.

The label on my can says the beer is double dry hopped with Columbus and Citra, not just Citra. Hmmmm….

Evil Twin Corner of George Street & Shawmut Road IPA has an alcohol content of 7.2% by volume and I paid $7.49 for my pint can from Half Time. Total Wine sells it for $19.99 a 4-pack in Overland Park, Kansas as I type.

Evil Twin Corner of George Street & Shawmut Road IPA pours to a dark hazy orange color with a very thick and fluffy chiffon head and a nose of vibrant citrusy orange and tangerine. A thick layer of Brussels Lace forms on the sides of my glass and follows the liquid all the way to the bottom. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, perhaps a little more than I usually get in the style. It explodes with juicy orange notes, tangerine too, and orange rind and lemon zest pop as well. At the last, the beer is minty herbal hoppy and finishes respectably bitter.

Very tasty indeed, it certainly did not taste like a 15-month-old IPA. I would buy it again for sure.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
