Ultimate Patriot 4th of July Kittens American IPA
Review Date 7/4/2025 By John Staradumsky
Happy 4th of July! Are you celebrating? I’m celebrating! And what better way than a beer that literally has the 4th of July written all over it! I’m talking about 4th of July Kittens Ultimate Patriot American IPA from Connecticut’s Fat Orange Cat brewery. This is my first review of a beer from Fat Orange Cat, though not my first beer from them. I had a sample of their Pumpkin Spice Latte at Taco Mac last September and vowed to have a full pour next time I visited, but when I did, there it was: gone!
I cannot find any information for this brewery on the internet; indeed I cannot even find a brewery website. I bought the beer from Half Time and their listing says:
Limited edition variant of Baby Kittens brewed with Mosaic, Centennial and Simcoe.
The label says the beer has an alcohol content of 7.4% by volume. I paid $5.99 for my pint can. Total Wine sells it for $17.99 a 4-pack in Charlotte, North Carolina. My can had no freshness dating, but I’m pretty sure it’s pretty fresh since I bought it in June.
4th of July Kittens Ultimate Patriot American IPA pours to a hazy orange yellow pineapple juice color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of intense citrus fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is light to medium in body, and immediately slaps you in the face with the juicy notes. There’s pineapple and grapefruit and tangerine to my taste, and the beer is almost like a breakfast cocktail of all three. It finishes bitter with grapefruit rind notes and lingers long dry and minty herbal bitter. I like it!
Herbal oregano and Underbergs bitters notes emerge as it warms and add to my delight. Happy 4th folks!
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
