This is an interesting beer. It's well suited for a cold December evening, loaded with flavor yet easily drinkable. The nose is big and reminiscent of the Allsorts licorice candies I was so fond of as a child. I get a touch of that in the palate, too, along with pleasing coffeeish notes and a smooth, silky character from the oats. The beer seems slightly thin in body compared to many other oatmeal stouts I've tried, but I think that lends to it's aforementioned drinkability. A roasty bitterness completes this splendid brew. Delicious!
