Highland Haze Hazy IPA

Review Date 12/9/2025  By John Staradumsky

Highland beers are featured as Beer of the Month this month at Taco Mac! That’s right, they are! That said, that’s not where I enjoyed a pint of Highland Haze Hazy IPA. I was actually at the new Brew Brothers bar and grill at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino. Brew Brothers offers pub fare and, more importantly, about a dozen beers and ciders on tap at any given moment. I had previously visited the Brew Brothers location in Laughlin, Nevada where I enjoyed a Four Peaks Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale.

I ordered up my Highland beer and enjoyed a few sips at the bar, then headed out onto the gaming floor with it to play some slots. Such fun! This is not Highland’s first hazy IPA, they’ve already had Rising Haze and Hazy Heights IPAs, and doubtless others to boot.

A Highland Haze purchase can do real good as well. Highland says as I type:

This summer, for every keg of Highland Haze sold, Highland Brewing contributed to the NC Hospitality Workers Relief Fund, supporting workers in Western North Carolina. Thanks to the incredible support of our customers, distributor partners, and retail collaborators, we didn’t just reach our $10,000 goal—we raised over $13,000.

This fund, managed by the NCRLA Foundation, provides vital aid to hospitality workers facing housing insecurity, major health challenges, and economic hardship. Together, our Thirst for Good is making a real impact—one keg, one pint, one generous act at a time.

Ingredients from the brewery website:

Hops: Citra Incognito, Krush, Mosaic

Grist: 2 Row, Flaked Wheat, Flaked Oats, Dextrin, White Wheat

Highland Haze Hazy IPA has an alcohol content of 7.4% by volume with 40 IBUs and I paid $8 for a pint at Brew Brothers. It’s a much better deal at Taco Mac at $7.51 for 23 ounces-if you’re a Brewniversity Chancellor like me. Total Wine sells this beer for $12.99 a six-pack here in Georgia.

Highland Haze Hazy IPA pours to a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of tropical mango and pineapple. Taking a sip the beer is light to medium in body with a robust tropical fruit presence of pineapple and mango. Very juicy indeed with a hint of citrus, it finishes balanced and very drinkable.

I did make it to Taco Mac the following week to celebrate Highland as beer of the month, where I enjoyed a delicious mug of Highland Cold Mountain Winter Ale.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
