Twilight to Starlight Double India
Pale Ale

Review Date 12/15/2025 By John Staradumsky
Does someone at Taco Mac have strong connections to the state of Illinois? Maybe they do. I do see a lot of beer from Illinois at Taco Mac, though I cannot say scientifically more than from other states. I can say with evidence though that Illinois has had a lot more representation than Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, or Connecticut. These states are always on my radar, being the old New Englander that I am. Perhaps Illinois breweries just export further.
What I can tell you is that I have had beers from these Illinois brewers at Taco Mac: Finch’s, Goose Island, Destihl, Hubbard’s Cave, Moody Tongue, and Pipeworks. I know this because I have reviews posted here for these breweries, at least one beer each enjoyed at Taco Mac. There may have been more that I took notes on but have not reviewed. Oh, and now you can add one more Illinois brewery with this review of Twilight to Starlight Double India Pale Ale by Hop Butcher for the World.
Hop Butcher for the World is located in Chicago, and I have heard good things about them for a while but have never seen their beer until now. Their Twilight to Starlight Double India Pale Ale is brewed with Motueka, Ella, and Simcoe hops, and tropical fruit medley tea. According to their website was last canned on November 13, 2025, so I will assume that is when mine was kegged as well. What’s a keg if not a really big can, after all? They call this beer a Madame ZuZu’s/Smashing Pumpkins Collaboration.
Hop Butcher for the World Twilight to Starlight Double India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 8% by volume and I paid $8.94 for a 23-ounce draft at Taco Mac.
My mug of Hop Butcher for the World Twilight to Starlight Double India Pale Ale arrived a very hazy orange juice color with a moderate head of creamy foam and a nose of juicy citrus. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and I get more of that juicy citrus orange, light tropical fruit (mango), pasty oats, raw carrot and a gently balanced bitter finish.
I would like more of the latter in a double India Pale Ale, but I also understand tastes run against that these days. Still, this was a tasty beer indeed that I very much enjoyed. Welcome to Guruofbrew.com, Hop Butcher for the World. We’re glad to have you.
Glad I tried it?
