Human Robot Festbier

We’re doomed! That’s what I thought when I drank my can of Human Robot Festbier. Of course, that sentiment had nothing to do with the beer, because it is an outstanding example of the style. No, it was the impending winter storm that had me thinking about Armageddon or, at the very least, snowmageddon.

I got my can of Philadelphia’s Human Robot Festbier from Half Time Beverage a little late in the season (December to be exact), so drinking it in January is not as strange as it may seem. I will say it was wonderful and held up perfectly.

I could not find any information on the beer on the Human Robot website, but Half Time quoted them as follows:

Festbier is all about drinkability. Ours is brewed with German pilsner malt, a touch of Munich, and Hersbrucker hops. After an intense double decoction mash, the beer is fermented slow and cold. A cracker like aroma, clean, honey like sweetness and just enough hops to balance it all out.

Human Robot Festbier has an alcohol content of 5.6% by volume according to Untappd. The label on my can does not define this. It does have a date of 08/07/2025 on it, which would be the packaging date. The label also says Hallo hund! (German for Hello dog!) and  Menschlicher Roboter (German for Human Robot). I paid $5.45 for my pint can from Half Time, and it was actually marked down a few bucks.

Human Robot Festbier pours to a pale straw color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of delightfully toasty bready malt. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, maybe even a bit fuller than usual for the style. No complaints there! It’s delightfully malty with just a hint of caramel, dried nuts, and toasted bread with the crusts on. Finishes with a long dry lingering bitterness, again a little more than usual for the style. No complaints on that, either.

Just a delightful Festbier, and one that I will definitely be on the lookout for again. Don't take my word for it, though. Doctor Doom says he loves it, too.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
