Medium brown color, creamy tan head, rich malty nose. Tasty ovaltine chocolatey maltiness to this one, rich mouthfeel, some chewy caramel flavors, a hint of licorice, alcohol warmth in the finish combined with a faint touch of hop bitterness. It paired nicely with a snack of Pfeffernüsse, the chocolate character and richnesss of the beer complemented the spicy ginger of the cookies perfectly. An excellent old ale/ winter warmer, definitely the best one I've tasted to come out of the Pacific Northwest region.
