Turkey Leg Double Dry Hopped West Coast India Pale Ale

Review Date 4/2/2026 By John Staradumsky
It’s a beautiful Thursday afternoon in March, the 26th of the month to be precise. The 27th, of course, is the anniversary of the birth of The Beer Hunter, Michael Jackson, and each year I toast MJ with a few beers. Today, though, I’m toasting with a…turkey leg?
OK, before you get too worried, it’s a beer: Turkey Leg Double Dry Hopped West Coast India Pale Ale from Other Half brewing. I often wonder what Jackson would have thought of Other Half and their unusual naming conventions and, of course, their legions of IPAs and double/imperial IPAs. For my part, I do enjoy most of them, and hey, they’re giving the public what the public wants.
Other Half says:
A Westie with our besties from Burial Brewing. We used to bright fruity hops combined with a classic West Coast IPA hop, Columbus, to create a fruity but still dank profile.
The label also states Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops are used to make Turkey Leg.
Other Half Turkey Leg Double Dry Hopped West Coast India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 6.2% by volume and I paid $7.99 for my can from Half Time. This is the only pricing information that I have. My can is stamped 11/11/25. Just in time for Thanksgiving.
Other Half Turkey Leg Double Dry Hopped West Coast India Pale Ale pours to a pale hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of robust pineapple and citrus. Taking a sip the beer is light to medium in body and immediately pops with tropical notes of mango and pineapple. Tangerine emerges and the beer finishes with dry bitter notes of minty citrus rind.
I love the aggressive bitterness here. An IPA should be bitter, after all. I definitely enjoyed Other Half Turkey Leg, and I think you will, too. I can tell you this for sure, after taking a sip, I was not crying fowl.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
