The Peabody Brewing Company has only been in operation since
March of 1997. Though Peabody is located in Massachusetts, which borders my
home state of Rhode Island, I had yet to come across their beers in my
travels. Imagine my surprise, then, when three bottles of Nor' Easter Pale
Ale arrived this morning with my Beer Across America Big 22 Shipment.
Nor' Easter Pale Ale is murky blond in color with a light but persistent head and a rich yeasty nose. This bottle conditioned brew is remarkably balanced, the soft malt underpinning is complemented but not dominated by the estery ale fruitiness, while the hops balance but don't intrude on their interaction. This is really a wonderful beer that I could easily drink a lot of!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
