What the Puck IPA

Review Date 6/22/2025 By John Staradumsky

Well isn’t this sad. I was putting together my review of Beer Zombies Zombie Duck Hunter IPA from Nevada and went to add the brewery to my Nevada breweries page. As soon as I did, I noticed a brewery missing: Pint Brewpub of Laughlin, Nevada. I visited in 2019, and although I took notes, I apparently never wrote a review. Now for the sad part, Pints is no longer in business, so I am adding reviews of their beers for historical purposes.

First up: What the Puck, an American IPA of 6% by volume. I noted the beer was an outstanding classic American IPA with grapefruit citrus in the nose, chewy caramel malt and more grapefruit and resiny pine in the palate, long dry lingering hop finish. The brewery was located in the Colorado Belle casino, and I first tried this beer in a sampler and later enjoyed a pint while gaming in  the casino.

Pints described the beer as follows:

A copper colored medium bodied beer with a generous amount of hops in the kettle & in the fermentation tank. There is a slight note of honey from our malt. The hops dominate the flavor, with notes of citrus in this American IPA.

I paid $7.75 for my sampler and $5 for my pint, and for an extra $2 got a brewery logo glass to take home (and you know I love brewery logo glasses). The beer had an alcohol content of 6% by volume. The brewery closure was not due to lack of quality with the beers. The entire casino closed during Covid and has sadly never reopened.

RIP...rest in pints? I would love to see this one return.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
