Lizard King Mosaic Pale Ale
Review Date 5/16/2024 By John Staradumsky
Here’s another tasty brew from Chicago’s Pipeworks brewery: Lizard King Mosaic Hopped Pale Ale. Last night, I watched Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Maybe I should have saved my can of Lizard King for that, Godzilla is the Lizard King, after all. Come to think of it, I drank a can of Konkey Dong Aquatic Ape Theory a few weeks ago. Maybe I should have saved that, too. Oh well. Too late now.
Lizard King is light, crisp and refreshing. Mosaic hops make for one tropical, citrusy, and piney pale that gets our mojo risin’.
This is about all I know about this beer, aside from it having an alcohol content of 6% by volume. I paid $4.99 for a pint can from Half Time, and Total Wine apparently sells it here at their Alpharetta, Georgia store for $12.99 a 4-pack. My can had no freshness dating.
Pipeworks Lizard King Mosaic Pale Ale pours to a very pale golden color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of soft tropical fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is light in body, even lighter than I would expect for a pale ale. It pops with tropical and stone fruit, and I immediately get mango and peach. A hint of pineapple comes through, and perhaps a kiss of citrus. Finishes more bitter than I expected, and I like this. Very easy drinking and very tasty.
I would buy this delicate goodness again.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
