Dubbel Dutch Belgian Dubbel

The third (and final) stop on our Father’s Day 2025 Extravaganza was Reformation Brewing’s Canton location and featured a few tasty pints, including Dubbel Dutch Belgian Dubbel. The place was packed with fathers, mothers, kids and even dogs. What’s better than that on a stormy Saturday evening?

Of the beer, the brewery says on their website:

An every day Belgian-Style Dubbel with a deep fruit aroma with hints of caramel, figs, and Belgian Candi Sugar.

What’s so every day about a Dubbel? I’m sure I don’t know. What I do know, though, is that I love the style, dark and malty nd not that fare removed at base from a German doppelbock, though the spice and funky yeast notes add another dimension.

Reformation Dubbel Dutch Belgian Dubbel has an alcohol content of 7.3% by volume and I paid $7.50 for my pint. The beer is part of the brewery’s Pioneer Series.

Reformation Dubbel Dutch Belgian Dubbel arrived a dark chocolate murky color with a very light wispy head and a nose of chocolate malt and clovey spice. Taking a sip, the beer is light to medium in body a little less than I would expect in a Dubbel. It’s chocolatey with powdered cocoa notes, dark fruity fig and raisin, and a hint of spicy yeast funkiness. Finishes dry with spicy clove and banana.

Very good indeed, and not all that different from the pint of their flagship Cadence that I enjoyed later in the night.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
