New Christmas Ale! I just love Christmas Ales, don’t you? Whatever holiday you celebrate, if you are a beer lover then this is the most wonderful time for a beer. Winter seasonal beers are some of the very best beers of all (I think), and I look forward to them every year. Old favorites like Harpoon Winter Warmer, Southern Tier 2XMAS, and Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout can be found in my beer fridge every year, but I also look forward to new treats like Revolution Fistmas Holiday Ale.

I saw this beer at Half Time Beverage, and it immediately went into my cart. Revolution is well know for brewing extreme (and pricey) beers, but this one was pretty reasonable and as I said, it’s a holiday brew, so I wanted to try it. They say about the beer:

Our Holiday Red Ale is steeped with ginger and orange peel. It features notes of fresh-baked bread, caramel, and stone fruit along with holiday cheer.

Revolution Fistmas Holiday Ale has an alcohol content of 6.5% by volume with 31 IBUs. I paid $3.49 for my can from Half Time, and Total Wine sells it for $11.99 a six-pack in Greenwood, Indiana. My can is stamped FILLED 10/19/25.

Revolution Fistmas Holiday Ale pours to a deep ruby red color with a very thick white head of foam and a nose of robust stewed malts and delicate spice. Taking a sip, the beer is immediately malty with a touch of caramel. It pops with stewed malt notes of very subtle chocolate and red berries. A hint of the ginger runs throughout and the bitter orange rind pops in the finish, drying the beer nicely.

A malty red ale is an excellent base for the festive ginger spice and citrusy orange peel to dance on, and Revolution executes well here. If this sounds tasty but you cannot find it in your area, consider trying Narragansett White Christmas or Line Creek Merry and Bright, both quite similar indeed.

I am really enjoying this one and would definitely drink it again.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
