Stout it! Stout it! Stout it out loud! Admit it, you read that in a Kiss song voice. I’ll admit that I wrote it in a Kiss song voice, and that it immediately popped into my head when I first sipped Samuel Adams Cold Brew Coffee Stout. That’s because this is, in my opinion, one of the best Samuel Adams beers to pass these lips in some time.

Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig

Samuel Adams Winter White

Samuel Adams cites Cold Brew Coffee Stout and Winter White as new beers, although the latter seems to be pretty much the same as the Samuel Adams White Christmas included in prior winter 12-packs.

Boston Beer says:

Inspired by the espresso martini, this robust stout bring together beer and coffee for a rich, roasted flavor and warming finish. This buzz-worthy brew is sure to bring extra cheer to every party.

The malts are the star here, and Boston Beer says Cold Brew Coffee Stout is brewed with Pale, C60, Roasted Barley, and Pale Chocolate.

Samuel Adams Cold Brew Coffee Stout has an alcohol content of 6% by volume with 20 IBUs. It is only available in the Winter Break variety pack, for which I paid $17.99 at Publix supermarket. Not a bad price these days. My cans are stamped APR 2026 on the bottom.

Samuel Adams Cold Brew Coffee Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a nose of dark roasty cold brew coffee. Taking a sip, the beer is thick and full in body and rolls luxuriantly over the tongue. It hints at toffee and licorice and really pops with luscious dark roast espresso aroma and flavor. Black coffee, dark chocolate and coffee grinds also come to mind. It finishes dry and roasty bitter.

Have I described enough coffee character here? The beer simply bursts with it, and the rich full body really makes the coffee and malt sing together in perfect harmony. I can’t think of anything that could improve this beer, and all that at a bargain price.

Outstanding, and you absolutely know I will be buying this one again.
