Though I don't generally buy beer in cans, that seems to be the only container in which Sapporo Black is sold, and it doesn't seem to suffer from it. Dispensing the beer shows that it lives up to it's name in color. A good sized white head rests atop the beer but quickly dissipates. The nose reveals a bit of the roasted malt to come. The palate is indeed malty, with plenty of slightly coffeeish roasted character. Hops are present at slightly less than balancing levels, but the roasted barley imparts a bitterness that helps to give the beer a fairly dry finish. Excellent!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
