G'Suffa Festbier

Review Date 11/23/2025 By John Staradumsky
Oans, zwoa, drei, g’suffa! That’s what I shouted with my very first sip of Schilling G’Suffa! Festbier. Schilling calls this a Munich-Style Festival Lager, and I can see that. Quite easily actually. It’s the kind of beer the big Munich brewers serve at Oktoberfest. It is tasty and delicious, too.
I got my can a little late, and I drank it a little late (for Oktoberfest), enjoying it out on the patio on a rare warm November evening. It was one of the best Festbiers I enjoyed this year, too. On their Facebook page Schilling says:
Our annual Festbier release, G’Suffa!, is inspired by the stronger, brilliantly clear golden lagers enjoyed beneath the tents of the Wies’n in Munich. This year, it returns with a new classic Schilling Beer Co. label—timeless in design, just like the tradition it celebrates. Brewed with a blend of Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner and Vienna malts, it offers a rich, bready malt character balanced by Bavarian Saphir and Perle hops, which lend bright floral notes. Spunded for natural carbonation, this Festbier is crisp, celebratory and made for sharing.
The post is from September 10th, and Schilling said the beer would be Available starting this Friday in cans and on draught. Prost! My can is stamped 092325 on the bottom, so they were still canning it a few weeks later. I paid $6.49 for my single from Half Time. This is the only pricing information that I have.
Schilling G’Suffa! Festbier pours to a pale golden color with a medium head of creamy white foam and a nose of very lightly toasted bread. Fresh bread with Crusts and all pops in the palate and the body is medium. It’s light and delicate in its clean maltiness as far as the flavor goes. Finishes up with an aggressive earthy bitter finish.
The lightly toasted malt is just beautiful here and the beer is so quaffable I wanted another after I finished my can. Had I had more, I would have indulged that desire.
Next year, I will know to buy more than a single, despite the fact that space is always limited in my Half Time boxes.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
