Schlafly Vanilla Pumpkin Ale
Review Date 9/26/2025 By John Staradumsky
New pumpkin beer alert! Better yet, new Schlafly pumpkin beer alert! It’s no secret that I love pumpkin beers, the true original American beer style. One of my favorites is Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. So, when I heard Schlafly was releasing a variation on that wonderful brew, Schlafly Vanilla Pumpkin Ale, I knew I wanted it. Half Time Beverage to the rescue, and here I am to tell you about it.
Schlafly says on their website:
Have you ever had perfection a la mode? Schlafly Vanilla Pumpkin Ale takes the seasonal fan favorite to a whole new level of perfection. All the classic notes of pumpkin infused with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg remain in harmony, and the addition of vanilla brings a creamy sweetness that delights the palate. Life is short, drink dessert first!
Schlafly Vanilla Pumpkin Ale has an alcohol content of 8% by volume with 16 IBUs and I paid $3.99 for my bottle from Half Time. Total Wine sells it for $12.99 a six-pack in Lexington Green, Kentucky.
More information from Schafly:
Process: Brewed
with Pumpkin & a Blend of Spices
Hops: Northtown (UK)
Grains: Pale, Caramel, Munich & Chocolate Malts
Yeast: American Ale
Schlafly Vanilla Pumpkin Ale pours to a dark caramel color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of intense spice and pumpkin. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body with a hint of caramel and brown sugar, a kiss of vanilla, vegetal pumpkin, and ginger, clove, cinnamon and allspice notes. There’s a dry spicy finish to this beer that demands you take another sip, and I love the pumpkin pie notes.
The vanilla adds a subtle nuance to an already wonderful beer, and although it’s not better as the original, it’s different, and at least as delightful.
Don’t miss it.
Glad I tried it?
