The Brews Brothers American IPA

We’re on a mission from God. Or, at least, I was. I was scrolling through Untappd and noticed that Schoolhouse Brewing had a neew beer on tap called The Brews Brothers, and it was listed as an American IPA. Of course, there were Jake and Elwood on the label and, Blue Brothers fanatic that I am, I knew I was headed to the brewery next day to get some.

And so I did. I went down to the brewery, which oddly enough is in an industrial park and not a schoolhouse. This was my first time there, but of course it won’t be my last. I had a tasty porter while I was there on a lazy Sunday afternoon in May, the day before Memorial Day even.

Schoolhouse says:

We're putting the band back together...We're on a mission from Hops. We've got Cascade & Chinook here, we've got Centennial & CTZ. We've even got Magnum & Warrior! Hopped up and ready to go, this IPA is calling your name. So head over to grab one now and don't delay. Maybe even whisper up a word to Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration on your way.

Schoolhouse The Brews Brothers has an alcohol content of 6% by volume with 76 IBUs. The beer was running $7 a pint and I bought a 4-pack of pint cans for $14.99.

Schoolhouse The Brews Brothers pours to a pale yellow color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of delicate light malt and citrusy grapefruit hops. Taking a sip, the beer is light in body, crisp biscuity malty. The hops pop quickly, they’re quite citrusy with grapefruit peel and pith. It’s resiny piney, too. The beer finishes with a balancing bitterness and a hint of resiny hops that makes me want another sip.

This is one to drink up fresh, and so I will. Best enjoyed listening to Blues Brothers music (which I did), or maybe even watching the movie. I think I may just had back to Schoolhouse for more of this one soon.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
