The
Sea Dog brewery in Bangor, Maine, is a Ringwood brewery, and has often been
accused of brewing beers with rather high levels of diacetyl. A recent
purchase of the Windjammer (today actually) indicates that Seadog has
achieved greater control over the Ringwood Lion. The brew is very malty,
with hints of Ringwood butteriness (though at lower levels than previous
samplings of this beer), and a pleasantly bitter hop finish. An eminently
enjoyable brew, and one worth trying again for the first time.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
