Sixpoint Pineapple Resin

Sixpoint Brewery

Review by John Staradumsky • August 12th, 2026

Do you love Sixpoint Resin? I know I do. It's an amazing malty hoppy imperil IPA from New York's Sixpoint brewery, and one I do not see often enough. Do you love pineapple? I know I do. It's a tasty juicy tropical fruit that can brighten even the gloomiest day. Now, what if you could have both, all in the same glass? Well friends, I am here to tell you that you can thanks to Sixpoint Pineapple Resin.

I picked up a can of Pineapple Recently from Half Time Beverage, and I was excited to try it, but I lost track of it with the rest of my beer purchases (it happens, no judgment on the beer). I got it in April of 2026 and drank it in early August, so not too much of a delay, errr at least for me. I always have a beer backlog.

Sixpoint Pineapple Resin has an alcohol content of 9.1% by volume with 103 IBUs. My can is stamped BEST BY AUG 16 2026 on the bottom and I drank it on August 6th. Ten days to spare! Sixpoint says the beer is brewed with pineapple puree.

About Sixpoint Brewery

Sixpoint was founded in 2004 (we like to say it was born at the dawn of civilization, though that's a story for another time...) in the neighborhood of Red Hook, BKLYN. It was essentially a cult brewery -draft-only, mysterious, cryptic...

Tasting Notes

Sixpoint Pineapple Resin pours to a brilliant golden color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose bursting with fresh sweet pineapple. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, just about what I expected, and quickly overwhelmed by sweet juicy pineapple. Dank resinous hops emerge as the beer progresses, drying the beer with a long lingering bitterness and earthy grass aroma in the finish. There's warming alcohol too.

Value & Verdict

I paid $3.99 for a 12-ounce can from Half Time. This is the only pricing information that I have.

I just love the interplay between the sweet juicy fruit and bitter herbal, dank resiny hops here, and you just know I would love to drink this one again.

Buy It Again? Yes, I would.
