Sweetwater Big Gigantic IPA

It’s big! It’s gigantic! It’s Big Gigantic, an India Pale Ale from Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewing Company. This is a beer that seems to be on the rare side, at least I cannot find it listed on the Sweetwater website. There are only 42 check ins total on Untappd, and mine is one of them. There is no description, either.

Taco Mac’s Brewniverity app, though, has the following:

A slight haze that fogs up the mirror and crisp, juicy notes that keep on rising. Big Gigantic Hazy IPA is sure to get the crowd amped for one helluva show.

Sweetwater Big Gigantic IPA has an alcohol content of 6.7% by volume, so this is not really a Big Gigantic beer by ABV. I paid $6.80 for a 23-ounce mug at Taco Mac. The beer appears to be draft only. I am assuming it is named for the band Bigt Gigantic. Sweetwater often does stuff like that.

My mug of Sweetwater Big Gigantic IPA arrived a hazy orange in color with a light fluffy white head and a nose of lush tropical fruit. Taking a sip, it’s very juicy with lots of mango, pineapple, and stone fruity peach, all leading into a gently bitter finish.

To me, this one was more fruity juicy than IPA-ish, but I enjoyed it well enough, and is served well to wash down some Hot Honey Mustard and Sweet Chipotle wings.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
