Georgia Kisses Tangerine Wheat

Who doesn’t like Georgia Kisses? I know I love them, and no I’m not talking about a peck on the cheek from a gal named Georgia, I’m talking about the sweet and bright little oranges called Georgia Kisses. They are also known as Kishu Mandarins, though here in Georgia you would never call them that. Whatever you call them, they are easy top peel and hard to stop eating.

Or drinking, for that matter! That’s because Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewing Company has all you Georgia Kisses fans covered with Georgia Kisses Tangerine Wheat Ale. I will confess that I am a little confused why they call this a “tangerine wheat ale” when it’s brewed with Georgia Kisses oranges. While both are mandarins, Georgia Kisses are not tangerines. So, lets see what Sweetwater says about this beer, shall we? From their website:

A tangy tribute to our Southern stomping grounds, Georgia Kisses bursts with bright, bold citrus flavor. Brewed with locally grown Georgia Kiss oranges from Franklin Citrus Farms, this wheat ale delivers a fresh-squeezed, juicy jolt in every sip. Its aroma of peel, pit and pulp, plus an easy-drinkin 5% ABV, make it the perfect pour for picnics and patios.

Ingredients from the website:

MALT 2-Row, Flaked Oats, Torrified Wheat, White Wheat

HOPS Columbus

Georgia Kisses Tangerine Wheat Ale has 20 IBUs and is a featured beer of the month at Taco Mac for March, 2026. I visited on a Thursday night and got a free pack of stickers with my purchase. I scanned in one of them that you see at the top of this page. I paid $6.80 for my 23-ounce draft mug.

Georgia Kisses Tangerine Wheat Ale pours to a light hazy orange color with a moderate head of creamy foam and a nose of slightly sweet mandarin orange. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body with a bright juicy citrusy character. It’s tart wheaty, crackery and finishes with bitter orange peel and grassy hops.

Refreshing indeed, a beer I would certainly enjoy again, especially in the warmer months of spring and summer.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
