Fat Orange Cat Winter Warmer

Review Date 11/25/2025 By John Staradumsky
Slightly over a year ago, I had my first taste of beer from Fat Orange Cat brewing of North Haven, Connecticut. It was their Pumpkin Spice Latte, and a taste is exactly what I had, a five-ounce nooner as I had already had several beers here. I enjoyed it though and vowed to order a full serving on my next visit.
Except, on my next visit, it was gone. Sad, that, but I did pick up a can of 4th of July Kittens Ultimate Patriot American IPA and enjoyed that for the Fourth. Now, it’s November, and on my annual pre-Thanksgiving holiday beer run, I got three singles of Fat Orange Cat holiday beers. I am here to talk about Fat Orange Cat Winter Warmer today.
Fat Orange Cat, it should be noted, is a contract brewer operating out of North Haven, Connecticut. They brew at the Twelve Percent Beer Project facility there. They are in good company as Abomination Brewing also contracts there.
There is no information on this beer on the brewery website, but the Untappd listing for it reads:
It's chilly outside and you need a friend. Make Fat Orange Cat your friend today and warm yourself this Winter with Fat Orange Cat's holiday spiced Winter Warmer!
Fat Orange Cat Winter Warmer has an alcohol content of 7% by volume and I paid $4.99 for a single at Total Wine. It was running $14.99 a 4-pack of pint cans.
Fat Orange Cat Winter Warmer pours to a dark mahogany color with a thick creamy tan head and a nose of toasted nuts and subtle spice. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and pops immediately with dark toasted malts, dark fruit figs and plums and subtle nutmeg spice. Toffee and cinnamon also appear, as does black walnut ice cream. It finishes balanced with spice.
An absolutely delightful beer, the sum of the parts are greater than the whole. I wish I had bought more, and should I see it again when I go out Black Friday beer shopping in a few days, I certainly will.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
