So, there I was at Taco Mac (don't a lot of my reviews start this way?), and I was pondering on a couple of Parish beers. The first, Parish Bloom, was on my radar as first to try, and it was an IPA of 7%. You could get a full 23-ounce mug pour for just under $9, too, not a bad deal, but since I'm not talking about that beer right now, you may suspect something went wrong, and you would suspect correctly.
From one of the bartenders came the dreaded words, 'Parish Bloom keg just kicked.' And with those words, choice was ripped from me, and it stung like a bandage torn off in one fell swoop.
So, we went to Plan B, and as Plan Bs go, this was a good one I will admit: Parish Actias Prime Juicy Triple IPA. Of the two, this one was the rarer (I believe), and the stronger, and the pricier. I might have gotten both had I had my druthers. Now we will never know.
Parish Actias Prime is named for the Actias moth. Parish Actias Prime Juicy Triple IPA has an alcohol content of 9.6% by volume; usually, I think of 'Triple IPAs' as being over 10% ABV. But we will allow for poetic license.

Tasting Notes
My glass of Parish Actias Prime Juicy Triple IPA arrived a hazy orange color with a light creamy head and a nose of citrus and earthy grass. The beer was medium in body, lemon grass citrusy with lots of earthy, herbal hops. A long dry herbal lingering bitter finish and some boozy alcohol warmth wrap up the whole affair nicely.
Value & Verdict
I paid $8.50 for an 11-ounce glass at Taco Mac. Total Wine has Actias Luna (their other Actias beer) advertised on their website at their Alpharetta store for $19.99 the 4-pack of pint cans, but they are out of stock. One assumes the Prime would be about the same price.
I didn't get the juicy notes in my glass, just lots of grassy lemony character, though I suppose you could classify the lemon notes as juicy. The beer was simply delicious however, and I would be all over it if I saw it again.
