Samuel Adams Winter White

Review Date 11/10/2025 By John Staradumsky

Samuel Adams Winter White! New for 2025! Or is it? The Samuel Adams Winter Break Variety Pack says it is; the Winter White can image on the box says “New” on it, although the same image on the Samuel Adams website does not. I’ll confess my check in to this beer on Untappd was my very first. Still, it sounded a lot like Samuel Adams White Christmas, which as the Ghost of Christmas Past can tell you has been a frequent occupant of Samual Adams winter 12-packs of years gone by.

Sam says:

Winter may be chilly, but this festive ale balances bright orange peel with holiday spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to warm up even the coldest temperatures and help you celebrate the season.

HOPS Spalt Spalter Noble hops

MALTS Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend, wheat

YEAST Samuel Adams Ale Yeast

SPECIAL TOUCHES Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Orange Peel & Clove

Samuel Adams Winter White has an alcohol content of 5.7% by volume, my notes on White Christmas put that beer at 5.8%. The descriptions of White Christmas I can find say it was blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange peel. No mention of the clove in Winter White.

However similar to White Christmas, Winter White is a delicious refreshing beer in its own right. I got 3 cans in the Winter Break Variety Pack, but the beer is also sold in six-packs. I saw a six-pack of bottles of the beer at Ingles market with my own eyes. In the Winter Break pack you will also get 3 cans each of:

Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig

Samuel Adams Cold Bew Coffee Stout

I paid $17.99 for my Winter Break pack at Publix, not a bad deal at all these days. My cans are stamped MAR 2026, the best before date.

Samuel Adams Winter White pours to a cloudy yellow white color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of spicy clove and nutmeg. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body about right for the style. The clove and nutmeg return with cinnamon and light citrus peel. A very spicy dry finish makes this refreshing indeed and invites another sip.

I would drink it again, but then again, I think I’m doing that right now.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
