Naughty Winter Warmer

Review Date 11/17/2025 By John Staradumsky
I’d rather be naughty than nice, wouldn’t you? Naughty can be a lot more fun, after all. If you don’t believe me, just ask the folks at Atlanta’s Scofflaw brewery. They have brewed up a beer new for 2025 (I think, at least I have never seen it, and it is not advertised on their website) called Naughty Winter Warmer. They do not have a Nice Winter Warmer. See? More fun to be naughty than nice.
To be fair, Brewery Ommegang does have a pair of holiday beers called Everything Naughty and Everything Nice. So, they cannot decide whether they would rather be naughty or nice. For my part, one fine Sunday morning in November I was shopping at my local Publix when I saw a beer I had been looking for, Creature Comforts Winter IPA. That’s a really nice winter beer indeed, and you really aught to try it. Perhaps you too, as I did, will look a few shelves up in the cooler and spy a six-pack of Scofflaw Naughty Winter Wamer. At least, I hope you do.
Hopefully, though, you will not have to make a return trip to get your beer as I did, since in Cherokee County, Georgia, you cannot buy before 12:30 on a Sunday. What’s the point of that other than making sure you go to church? I can’t think of any other, and it is a stupid, unconstitutional law.
Scofflaw says on the six-pack box:
Embrace your inner naughty elf with our naughty winter warmer! This holiday brew is a playful blend of festive flavors, featuring the spirited blend of cinnamon, decadent hazelnut, & a whisper of smooth vanilla. It is the perfect pairing for both mischievous evenings and joyful gatherings. Which list are you on?
Scofflaw Naughty Winter Warmer has an alcohol content of 7% by volume and I paid $11.79 for my six-pack at Publix, not a bad price these days. My cans are stamped 10/14/25 on the bottom. They say WHAT THE ELF YOU LOOKIN’ AT? on the neck. I find this amusing. This is the second seasonal beer I have seen recently from Scofflaw, the first being Scofftoberfest. I highly recommend that beer, too.
Scofflaw Naughty Winter Warmer pours to a dark mahogany color with a light head of creamy white foam and a nose of deep rich sweet dark malts. Taking a sip, the beer is full in body, luxuriant as it slides over the tongue. It’s smooth and malty, delicious with dark toasty slightly chocolate malt. It pops wondrously with dark fruity fig, bright cinnamon, a hint of creamy vanilla and toasted hazelnut. It finishes dry with spice in the finish and I am really glad I picked it up.
With the bold spices, you could style this as a spiced ale, but the rich dark maltiness screams winter warmer to me. Why not be a little naughty yourself and try some? You will be glad you did.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
